Marcus isn't an NFL QB

We've implemented "smash mouth" football all offseason, and there's no way to run an uptempo and smash mouth offense at the same time.

 

OP is spot on. Mariota is the worst starting QB in the NFL and coaching staff is the worst in the NFL. Once we lose next week i hope we lose every game the rest of the season. No reason to be winning games anymore after that

 

I think our OC is just not a really smart guy.

 

The last to wasn't garbage time either. They didn't want the Titans to score. MM is a very good YOUNG QB. He is going to make mistakes. Chill folks. We weren't really a playoff team this season. This is a process.

 

Because that's what good teams do. They capitalize on every opportunity. Superbowl caliber teams are these kind of teams.

This is true, but there's no reason we can't mix it up. Don't have to play smashmouth the entire game, especially when that smashmouth game plan results in multiple fumbles like we saw today. There are advantages to being multi dimensional.

 

DC's are onto MM already. They know he throws a lot of floaters to the backs, and tries to hit slants at the goal line. When under pressure he's terrible. He already throws a soft ball, get him backpedaling and it's even worse. The inability to hit deep balls keeps safeties and nickel backs up close. We didn't even use our tight ends today. If not for Sharpe and the Henry improvised run the game would have been even worse. We are a one trick pony, and it's going to be a long year.

 

They actually did mix it up today.

 

Give the Vikes coaching staff a lot of credit. 1st Half we moved up and the field on their defense no problems. Scored a TD before the half. They made adjustments while we didn't, we got very predictable. Our coaches are scrubs.
