You think Brady would have started for the Pats with Brees playing so well? You think the Cowboys start Dak unless Romo is injured? Sometimes it takes a break to get on the field and prove yourself.

Yes, he has shown signs of playing well, but obviously not enough.
Cleveland paid Scooby his full salary to go to the practice squad, don't think that means much other than a courtesy gesture.

I would have kept him over Cassel tbh....I have no idea why we have Cassel, to mentor Mariota? Good job Andrew. If Mariota's confidence is being shaken isn't that when a vet steps in to " mentor"?

Supposedly.....maybe it's just all too much for him right now. Some make the transition, some don't. I mean, look at Johnny Football....you would think the guy had it all, but he ended up a mental case. Then you get a 6th round nobody that went 7-4 his senior year and ends up winning 4 super bowls.

    Oh the Tom Brady argument.

For every Tom Brady there have been dozens of later round QBso were useless.

Since Tom Brady went in the sixth tell me who have been the best late round/UDFA QBs?

Off the top of my head I would rank them

    1. Tony Romo
    2. Ryan Fitzpatrick
    3. Matt Cassel

Most starting QBs in the NFL today are first round picks or high second round.

Can't say I blame you on that one lol.

Try it in your mind. Go division by division. If I have time later I will list it out.

It is alarming. Even with all the busts you are still better off getting a QB in the first, or high second.

Probably true. Especially with Dak and Wentz starting this year, and MM and Winston from last year's draft. Probably close to 90%. But remember, there have been MANY 1st round busts too.

    Okay, let me try this
    1. Giants
    2. Eagles
    3. Vikings
    4. Packers
    5. Lions
    6. Bears
    7. Saints
    8. Buccaneers
    9. Panthers
    10. Falcons
    11. 49ers (whether it is Gabbert or Kaepernick)
    12. Cardinals (already at 12 and have not left the nfc)
    13. Dolphins
    14. Steelers
    15. Bengals
    16. Browns
    17. Ravens
    18. Colts
    19. Titans
    20. Jaguars
    21. Broncos
    22. Chiefs
    23. Raiders
    24. Chargers
That is exactly three quarters of the NFL with either a first or high second round ppick starting at QB.
