Marvin Harrison Cost The Colts The Game

How many times did Vince run out of bounds Sunday to avoid being hit? He is certainly built much better than Harrison. Receivers aren't running backs, and it's more important for them to give up a few yards and be back on the field than to chance getting hurt. LT was actually running right beside Harrison (imagine that), so he took the sidelines to avoid contact. I am sure he felt with a first down Peyton could get it in the end zone on 3 tries.

 

Walter Payton and Emmitt Smith had similar statistical careers although Smith played a couple more years (not all that productive those years). However, Payton got his numbers running behind some of the worst OLs and played on some of the worst teams with terrible QBs most of those years. Every team they played had 8 in the box to stop Payton because the Bear's opponents didn't have a passer or WRs most of Walter's career to worry about. No telling what Payton's numbers could have looked like if he had the OL to run behind that Smith had.

I agree with Gut however that Barry Sanders may have been the best running back of all time. What Barry Sanders was able to accomplish may have been even more spectacular than Payton. The guy ended his career with a 5.0 YPC average!!! The Lions were not exactly a powerhouse team during his career either. I had the misfortune to get to see some of Sanders most spectacular runs, the most spectacular runs I have ever seen, against the Bears.

 

Of, course he is Po'ed, that's b/c Reggie Wayne has significantly cut into his production, Reggie has more yards receiving, ypc, yac, and TD's.

He's not "the man" anymore. Truth is teams are more worried about Reggie Wayne now.

He's sloooowiing down in his later yrs.

 

Watching Sanders in slow motion is even more amazing than real time. The greatest RB of all time IMO.

 

He makes great catches, and runs great routes, he's an upper tier receiver no doubt, but........... 1. He could have scored on that play, and 2. he's a Pansy diving out of bounds!!!!!!, and 3. Never compare a receiver to a Quarterback as far as going out of bounds. QB's are paid to protect themselves. They actually had to TEACH, and practice with Steve McNair on how to slide to avoid hits.

Diving receivers are Girls!!!!!!!! Hands Down!!!! MAN LAW!!!!!!!

 

LT has to start getting into the category. He runs, he passes, he catches TDs. May set a record for most TDs in a season. The guy hold SD up on his back and only gets better every game he plays.

 

Most every receiver in the NFL runs out of bounds rather than take on tacklers for an extra 3-4 yards. They are built for speed, not contact. You have a few exceptions like TO, but the majority bail out.

 

I agree completely. IMO, if LT continues on this pace, he will be considered THE greatest RB of all time. However, for pure RB moves, cutback, vision and acceleration, LT isn't as enjoyable to watch. (IMO)

 

So, is it safe to say that GoT is the only freak on here with this opinion of Barry?

Stinky was 1-5 in the playoffs, Even leading his team to a loss when he rushed for 169 yards. Only PO game stinky ever won was the one time he faced South Americas team when he got his only postseason score while rushing only 12 times in a blowout.

So there is your choking, plus not only is stinky the Gayton of RBs he is also a quitter.
