Seeing on NFL.com and article which contained in the title "...Manziel Sparkles...". Manziel played a terrible game. He was lucky he was on the winning end of both his fumbles and his 2 plays were to wide open receivers any QB would have made.

Yet when Mariota crushed last week it had nothing to do with Mariota. It had to do with the play calling. They wrote off Mariota completely saying he was fortunate to have a good play caller.

Clearly the media picks which players to hype, how do they decide? Do they have a media cult which decides these things lol?

Manziel is a favorite? They've done nothing but rip him to shreds over everything since he has been in the league. He got ripped apart for slamming down a water bottle at a restaurant.

Because seeing Manziel run around like Johnnie Football back at A&M sells. Same reason Tebow gets talked about.

Right now he is still able to pull in money and they are going to keep going back to that vein until it is dry.

People like talking about Manziel. Heck, you started a topic about him. He didn't totally eff everything up, so he deserves a bit of credit.

Also, people were raving over Mariota last week.

We were. Nobody else was. People put it all on coaching, crediting Mariota for zero.

Um yes? Most analysts were throwing out the Mariota=RG3 and Jameis=Luck argument for the good/bad game for each.

    Yep.

Whoever moves the needle is who they promote. Doesn't even matter if the guy is good. Doesn't even matter if the guy is likable.

Tim Tebow sucked. Doesn't mean ESPN would stop talking about him. NFLN too. This preseason, after two years of no football for Tebow, they would cut in to the Eagles' game to show his drives in the fourth quarter.

It's the same with the guys they decide to tear down. Cam Newton got paid at Auburn? RUN EVERY STORY POSSIBLE TO DRUM UP ATTENTION. How many times did we hear about how ESPN talked to the "bagman" in that situation? At least a dozen.

ESPN/NFLN aren't in the sports journalism business, they're in the making money business.

Stop watching ESPN and NFL Network.

    Problem solved.
