Anyone notice we have a BYE week very early in the season? After this we have our next three games at home and then go on the road to face Carolina.I think there is a good chance we can win every game in that four game stretch especially if Manning is still out.I would love to be able to face Kerry Collins.Thats the easiest stretch of the season in my opinion besides the start of the season where we face the Jags,Broncos and Browns in the first three out of four games.

Every team has question marks. But of all the teams in the division the one with the fewest is Houston. They have the offensive firepower to keep up with any team in the league. Even with poor coaching and a defense that lacks edge that offense has put them in contention for years... so ANY improvement on defense could win them the division.

Based on what I see now, I'd say the division title is wide open with the Texans most likely to win it and the Jags the least likely. I suspect Arian Foster might struggle a bit between his hammy and teams now seeing him as a person to limit. I also suspect that the Titans will give a much better run at it than any sane person would have thought 2 months ago. On balance the coaching, QB and defensive changes have gone much better than they should have and will translate to a couple more wins than I thought.

Indy is the "wild card" - they've started poorly in the past and came back strong. Based on the way Indy is acting I don't think they expect to see Peyton on the field for a long time... and they just don't want to come out and say it. If he misses 8 games they are probably toast, and that's how it's looking right now.

Because they're no better than they have been the past 3 years when they were supposed to win this division?

... Actually, I'd say the only people that would believe the Texans have the best chances are people that haven't paid any attention to that team for more than 2 seasons.

Would it be only the bias that disagree that it's the Chicago Cubs year each season?...

Texans are the NFL's Chicago Cubs. But worse.

Why I'm not scared of Houston. Because I refuse to take Arian Foster seriously, last year was a fluke and he is injured and just lost is lead FB in Vontae Leach to Bal. This season, he will barely cross 1000 yds.

And everyone else is worse... Texans are the same, with a possibly improved defense.

Indy signed KFC as their savior.

Jags don't have an O line or a D line. Can't make up their mind on a QB.

Titans... TBD. But lots of unproven players and coaches make for too big a question mark for most rational people to pick as the division winner. Until last week the only talent on offense hadn't really seen the field in preseason.

The same old choking Texans is good enough to be a front-runner for now.

    I have to agree.
I hope they stink it up, but I'm not going to be so quick (or blind) to dismiss them....and yes I have watched them for the last 2 or 3 years and then some.
Wade Phillips will make a difference with that defence and they have the players.

We SHOULD beat the Jags, Browns & Broncos. 3-1 would be sweet.

:hmm: Wouldn't that make them the Titans?

Michael Lombardi is completely clueless, this is the same man who helped make the Raiders a league wide laughing stock for years.

Even if all of this magically happened....there's still Ben Tate. Houston will be fine moving the ball on the ground regardless of who's back there.
