Remember the guy from LSU who wore #2 who had a huge upside that played QB?

Whatever happened to him btw?

 

I think he has a cough syrup addiction and works for K-Mart.

 

I think I like the guy even more after those videos. He just doesn't quit. I don't think you saw that in Dorsey and Tye Jackson. Heck, I'd never heard of Tye Jackson before the draft.

 

As a Michigan fan, I wouldn't be too crazy about us getting Martin.

He's the strongest guy in football... but I didn't see that translate to on-field success often. Could have been due to doubles, as he was our only guy on the line... but eh...

He'll wow at the combine though. So we'll see...

 

He would definitely be a standout UT instead of playing nose like he had been. Trick with him is having another good tackle that can draw doubles.

 

I can actually say I was impressed with #68 Mike Martin from Michigan.. He would be a huge reach in the 2nd round, but I would love if we grab him in the 3rd round. This guy will be a very good NFL player.

 

i thought everyone wanted us to draft a dt that could take on double teams and free up casey, our dends, and backers more?

 

Well considering Casey can draw doubles.... Casey would move to NT Full time and Martin would play UT next to him. It would still achieve the same thing.

 

The question is, is there a DT in this draft that will be there for us, that can draw doubles and BEAT doubles with some consistency? THAT is the difference, because while Martin can pull doubles, he doesn't always have a chance to beat them.
