I completely agree that Palmer is the clear #1 on the running game woes blame list. It's VERY clear that our offensive players feel defeated before they take the field. His offense is pure poo! Yes, we have improved as a passing team under Palmer, but the running game is legendarily awful. Not only that, but Palmer seems perfectly willing to do the same thing every week while the players get all of the blame.

CJ just doesn't fit well with the zone-blocking scheme. We need a guy who hits his hole, and can break a tackle or too. He worked well with the power blocking, but we've changed for the better. It's time to make a move. I still think CJ can be a servicable RB, but not worth the money...

For those of you who don't completely understand the zone blocking scheme, read this:

Amazing (but long) read. Really helped me understand "zone blocking" - for I really didn't know. I never played OL or offense really, so had a very basic understand. This showed me the light! lol

CJ can't out run ol Kyle Vanden Bosch, so I really don't know why we have him in this scheme. His vision is crap at best so again, why is he still here if we're set on zone blocking????

This is a complex playbook, maybe we're too young to make this work.

And the league cutting down the number of practices hurts too.

I think our O-Line is MUCH better suited for power blocking. So is our RB. Apparently, our offensive coordinator either can't see that, or is too stubborn to adapt to a better style for the team. I thought it was all about winning. Not to Chris Palmer I guess.

They are better suited for power blocking, and Palmer did adapt Dingers O last year after a few losses.

And this system would be a better one, if we could master it. More complex offenses are harder to stop.

Monster holes that CJ couldn't take advantage of. Tonight just confirmed he's nothing more than an average player.
