Monday Morning QB: Raiders @ Titans Grades

Young's legs are fine. He is being coached to stay in the pocket. Complaints against his performance should equally acknowledge the other players performance (WR's!) and the game-plan's contribution to his poor numbers.

 

FIVE dropped passes!...not every throw is going to be perfect, even Peyton Manning throws baddly on occasion, and it appears that with Vince most passes are not going to be right where it is supposed to be but unlike Manning who has incredibly gifted wide receivers who will catch anything they touch, Vince has wide recievers who have horrible hands and will drop passes that are put right on the numbers. FIVE dropped passes...TWO of which would have been TDs...If the WRs had caught them would have put Vince at 11-14 with over 100 yrds and 2 TDs. Similar to the New Orleans game and just like that we would be singing his praises...but no HE has an off day, when our Wide Receivers never have an on day (who also always seem to be the reason we don't score in the Red Zone.)

 

I love how as soon as Vince gets back, the receivers are to blame again! Put Kerry back in, since the receivers seem to automatically get better hands with him throwing the ball.

 

Our WR's are bad and so is Young's passing. We have no passing game right now... I keep waiting for Vince to break loose one game and he just hasn't been able to put it together. It's kind of the same ol' nightmare... When he does make a decent pass our guys can't catch it and when they're wide open Vince throws it over their head.

 

i think three dropped touchdown passes is something to point out though. i mean, the one to roydell was a laser in the middle of three defenders that hit him right in the numbers. troupe may have lost his in the sun, but that ball was where it needed to be. vince also hit ganther in stride, all ganther had to do was catch the ball, turn up field one step and fall forward.

 

2 dropped TD passes. Troupe was overthrown.

It’s all on me. It’s one of those opportunities that we needed to take advantage of. It’s the NFL. They seldom come often and we need to take advantage of it. We have to find a way on offense to make more plays, so that in the fourth quarter we don’t have to be crawling and scratching.

but whether it was dropped or not, if those others aren't dropped we don't have any of this discussion.

 

Let's not forget the LONG pass that Justin Gage was called for offensive pass inteference...
