OT is more important. Mainly because a dominant pass rusher can erase the need for elite corners. No matter how good a CB is a quality QB will find a hole in the defense unless he is under duress.

However I would pick an elite playmaker first!

If this thread was about possible LBs in the draft, we would still find a way to hijack the thread into a Ramsey/Tunsil debate! LOL- it is what we do.

I love that you IGNORE that the GM said he sees him as a CB and keep repeating yourself 500 times...how do you know...how do you know.....yeah, but how do you know. And these how do you know things work both ways. How do you know that Tunsil's little party with Kemdiche isn't the start of a problem that's being glossed over by everyone? How do you know Tunsil will be an elite LT? What if you try him there and he gets beat too much so you move him to RT...? BRILLIANT!!!

    LOL

I would put more credence into your argument if Ramsey had never played CB and they were gonna draft a S and see if they could turn him into a CB. But he played CB last year as was quite excellent at it (QB's had something like a 30% completion percentage against him) and should only get better with more experience!

There are two simple facts. First, we play in the Nickel about 70% of the time so if Cox were pushed down to nickel, the $5mill is worth it if it means a huge improvement in our pass coverage. Didn't Denver just do this and WIN THE SUPER BOWL??? Secondly, there is no guarantee that Cox beats out the young guys 'behind' him because they were brought to compete specifically for nickel and dime CB. So Cox may be fighting for his job because if he's beaten or just even with one of these younger and cheaper guys...he could be cut. On the other hand, we don't know if this will be JMac's last season with the Titans so they could theoretically cut Jmac next year and have Ramsey and Cox as the starters.

The flip side to that is suggesting we need top 5 picks at LT, LG, OC, RG, and RT...because a missed block or blown blocking assignment could get our franchise QB knocked out of the game.

Come on, man!!! Lewan is a top 11 pick in round 1. Jones was a 4th rounder. Schwenke was a 4th rounder. Poutasi was a 3rd rounder. If we take a RT in round 2, you sound like it'll be the end of Mariota!

We're not suggesting you get Bell and an undrafted free agent and let them battle it out! LOL

Look, ppl need to realize that all of these guys better improve but they aren't all trash either.

But these two plays show exactly what some of the problems were for the last 2 years! Bell was lost in who to block in a lot of that game. Looks like Lewan was taking hi guy no matter what and I think Schwenke and Bell were not on the same page on a simple stunt! We even chip blocked the other side (Poutasi's) expecting Lewan and Bell (2 OT's) could hold down the pass blocking. NOPE!

But 2 things to catch here. First, Lewan had Vernon effectively blocked though with better technique, Vernon never gets to Mariota (and I agree it was a late hit). Second, on the next play...Lewan can't move Vernon who sheds him to get in on the tackle and Bell - AGAIN - doesn't know who to blocks so he blocks no one. Schwenke handled his guy. Poutasi tries to chop block ineffectively. UGH!

But I point out the Lewan Vernon thing because those of you advocating moving Lewan to RT, that is more of what you're going to get in the run game since that type of blocking isn't his strength! And tunsil will have the same problems on the left side.

So again, agreeing with Fry, LG and Poutasi at RT were a big problem...and add OC when Schwenke was lost for the rest of the season. but really this all starts with Webster making a bad choice(s) with Levitre, Poutasi, not knowing he had a problem on the OL when every fan did a year or more earlier!!! then cascaded with Whiz's playcalling 5 guys in the pattern, deeper drops without our OL being able to hold up, bad OL coaching as the OL was confused a LOT and put them together and whaddaya get? 54 sacks and an injured Franchise QB!!!

Is Poutasi the answer at LG? Or will he be getting Mariota killed but from a different position?

Bell was actually the 32nd best ot overall, left and right, him and a second round rt can fight for the rt spot
