Coaching staff has to be up there. Teams with surplus talent often suck due to poor coaching. Too many unchecked egos in a locker room will kill a team and great coaches find a way to make those types of guys fall in line.

Coaching better not be important, otherwise this will be a long Fall season.

We have gotten stronger coaching on the defensive side w Williams and hopefully Croom and the new TE coach help the offense.

Most important position or unit is QB. If you look in the NFL, the teams with their QB are always in position to win. It's funny, I remember someone on here stating that we were not like New England who focused on their OL. I thought that was funny. NE hasn't drafted a QB high since 1993. Dee Millner was one year old when they last drafted a QB high. It easy to fill in all positions when the QB is in place. Since then, the Titans have drafted 3 QB's.

You must get your QB first and then you build the trenches (OL and DL).

I agree, but it isn't the only way to structure a team.

You are right...I should have said QB is the most import position or unit and then OL and DL. Once you get your QB, the next thought should be keeping him upright and healthy. The only thing is finding a QB is not that easy or an exact science. And over drafting or picking a QB at 8 because it's a need is not a smart move if the talent level doesn't justify the pick. You still need smart people running the organization.
