I don't don't see where anyone but the filmmakers themselves deemed that turd-fest any good.

One of my best friends said it was great. Another one of my friends said it was one of his favorite movies (he's a Steelers fan though).

I'm not, at all, saying I agree. I'm just showing you what people think of it. I have no idea why it's been given so much credit. I redbox'd it, brought it home, surprisingly managed to stay awake throughout, and finished the movie thinking "this movie was average at best." It had a few mildly entertaining moments, but other than that it sucked.

It's not a mainstream film yet it was marketed as such.

It's an excellent character study that I thoroughly enjoyed. Had I gone to see it based on the hype though I would have come away disappointed.

That's exactly what happened with me. It had been so hyped that I actually thought it was going to be really good. Then I watched it...had its moments like I said, but nothing special.

I enjoyed Up in the Air, but it certainly wasn't the end all be all. I wouldn't even call it a great movie. Very good, maybe.

I guess The Hurt Locker came out in 08... but it's still making this list.

Not a bad movie by any means. I liked it, but it wasn't a great movie. Nothing that should have been hyped near as much as it was. I was expecting a real gut-wrenching moment coming on the whole time... never really happened. There wasn't a climax. The ending was kind of abrupt for what I expected.

Again, not a bad movie. Just another movie.

The last house on the left was ok. I expected better. I saw the original and was expecting a really good movie. They changed a few plot details with the characters. Overall it was worse than the original in my opinion. It was on HBO last night, and I was really looking foward to it but it never gave me goosebumps like the old movie did.
