The same was with Vick, it is the majority population wanting a hybrid "Athlete" type to play QB. You see Colleges shifting the emphasis to putting the best "Athlete" on the field at QB, it may work in college, but that transition will not be successful at the NFL level. Ask, Vick, these are the same questions every fan asked themselves in Atlanta. Now ask them about Matt Ryan, he may not transcend to their population or environment, but he completes their team much more than previous. It's just a shift, conventional wisdom over current trendyness. Gimmick-style over Pro-style, the same reason Alex Smith blows and Tim Tebow, Pat White will too.
