Really? The story just didn't flow at all.

And too much teen angst in it. "we're breaking up. We're together. We can't do this. I love you".

Still a better love story than twilight.

Lemme clarify: it wasn't nearly the POS I was expecting it to be.
And yeah, lots of teen angst in there, but that's the thing about the Peter parker character: despite being a super hero nothing ever goes right for him. I noticed also that they dialed Spidey back a bit and made him more of a witty wisecracker than the pure a-hole d-bag he was in chapter 1.
Dane deHaan was a better cast then I expected and I'm glad that the whole movie wasn't spend on GG genesis story.
What I didn't like?- Max Dillon's character defect and motivation. I get that some people do have egomania combined with inferiority complexes and delusions of grandeur, but this was downright cartoonish.

Yeah that was one of my main problems with it as well. That whole character just didn't seem to fit the tone of the rest of the movie. I said it a few pages back in my comments about the movie, but Foxx's character/backstory felt like something straight out of a Schumacher Batman film. Like it was Arnold Freeze/Carrey Riddler level corny to me.

That's exactly who I was thinking of when I watched it.

Green Goblin was another sore point. I thought the guy was cast well but he went from former, long gone friend to back in town to working out who Spiderman is and becoming the Green Goblin way too quickly.

Yeah I agree with that too. I loved the casting of that dude. I was surprised to find out that he is like 29 years old in real life. Looks much younger.

IMO Electro just isn't a good enough villain, or at least was not portrayed well enough, to be the main baddie.

    I thought Rhino sucked too.

I don't get the point of casting Giamatti as Rhino. I know it's for the Sinister Six but he wasn't required, really.
