You know, we've all been debating the extent to which Munchak sucks for two years now. All of my thoughts are out there. The dude has officially been s***canned. I'm done arguing about it.

You think he could've won us a Super Bowl. I think he'd field a consistently mediocre team (as he has 3 years in a row now). It is what it is. I guess we'll never know.

well considering he didn't want to make any coaching changes if that was the ultimatum because I don't know if that was the exact reason behind the firing then yes he would have fielded mediocre coaches with mediocre players.

Schefter, Mort, etc. all reporting that Munchak turned down a multi-year extension and a raise from the Titans yesterday (on the condition that he make staff changes).

Whew. We dodged a bullet there.

He's interviewing for the Penn State job today and he'll surely get it.

I was just coming here to post that.

Wow. So much for all that "Tommy is smart" stuff, huh?

You'd have to be a pretty stupid businessman to offer your most important employee a huge raise and a long-term contract as a gesture and not as a serious offer.

Of course, Smith really seems to be pretty stupid.

That was just to save face. They knew he wouldn't accept having go fire everyone. By offering the extension and money, it doesn't not look like they forced him to fire everyone in a lame duck year.

Shawn Jefferson, Sylvester Croom now in line to lose jobs as a result of Munchak's loyalty to others he wouldn't fire. #Titans
