The Titans plan to reduce the number of option routes in their passing game for 2013.
Under fired OC Chris Palmer, receivers made route choices at the line of scrimmage based on reads. According to coach Mike Munchak, that made Jake Locker play slower. "You get into some bad habits, and that takes a while to develop," Munchak said. Locker ended up with just 10 touchdowns and 11 interceptions in 11 games. He has nowhere to go but up as the Titans continue their search for a new offensive coordinator.

Well, I was kind of hoping that was a given.

Jared Cook should do better with this. Often times he'd run the 2nd route, and nobody knew but him.

Jake was definitely waiting too long to make his throws due to miscommunications. With those option routes, the QB must throw the before the receiver breaks most times. Waiting until they make their break (which is what Jake was doing) means the QB rarely will see a receiver "open."

Giving a first year starting QB with a first year starter at WR option routes doesn't seem like that was a great idea.

Yeah, common sense would tell most anyone that. Question is why didn't our coaching staff know?

No it wasn't. If you will remember back in 2011 when Palmer was still running a lot of Heimerdinger's stuff due to the lockout, Locker threw ball with much more confidence and success than in 2012 under Palmer's confusing garbage offense.

I'd like to hear Munch try to explain the O-Line's play in 2012 myself.
