He was 8-8 and 6-10 his last 2 years after that. No worse than Munchak. I don't ever see Munchak going 13-3. Fisher did it 3 times.

After his first year, he didn't have a losing season for 6 years and was in the middle of moving to a new state. Didn't even have a real stadium or any fan support. His worst years, from 2004-2006, we were in cap hell and had to dismantle the whole roster. Even through those years, we improved every year. Jeff Fisher is a lot better coach than Mike Munchak ever dreamed of being.

We did so. 2004, we were 5-11. We were 4-12 in 2005 but McNair couldn't even finish most games because of his back. Then we went 8-8 in 2006. That 2006 roster was not nearly as talented as this roster Munchak struggled to go 7-9 with.

I'm starting to think we had no business firing him. We were off to a 5-2 start and then our QBs went to hell. It's very difficult for ANYONE to win without good QB play. We wouldn't be sitting at 7-9 and a 5 year playoff drought if he kept Fisher.

You're absolutely right. The worst thing Fisher ever did was promote Chuck Cecil to DC. Also, Heimerdinger was diagnosed with cancer during the middle of the season. Fisher had to let Dowell call the plays one week. You know Heimerdinger didn't really feel like coaching. I would love to have seen what Fisher could do with Ruston Webster and the current roster we have. Under Fisher, we could always run the ball and get after the QB. 2 things we haven't been able to do since Munchak took over.

If you take out the 2 years of cap hell where we had absolutely no roster, Fisher's record after they moved to LP Field was:

    13-3
    13-3
    7-9
    11-5
    12-4
    8-8
    10-6
    13-3
    8-8
    6-10

Pretty impressive. A lot better than Munchak will ever do. Plus Fisher had to take on Peyton Manning twice every year.

He Who Shall Remain Nameless was the dismantling of this franchise. He provided some exciting games and moments, but the one season after 2006 that was successful he had no part in. Amazing what one pick will do to a franchise when you miss. Good thing Bud Adams stepped in and ordered we draft him, or else.
