What has Rob Ryan done that makes you think he's better than Munchak?? You just like that he pasts pretty women to his play chart.

Haha, very true. If we have another draft like this past one... Sky's the limit.

Personally I see a bigger need at DT. We have a spot open at each DT, DE, LB, SS and probably free safety after griffin. If we choose to keep griffin we need to be sure to bolster that front 7 to give the back end some help. Devon still in the first round and Mcclellin in the 5th? I'd be stoked.

 

Fisher hired elementary school kids as his scouting staff...for real, the dude went through picks like toilet paper. You build the bulk of your team in the 2-5 rounds. And can we please just cut Rusty Smith already?

 

I've got my ideas of who we should draft, but we're yet to see the Bowl games, Senior Bowl and of course the combine, so that could change. But I trust Munchak knows what he's doing come April.

 

My short list of needs,

Fierce pass rushing DE
Hard Hitting SS
Smart, big athletic OL(one that can play C or G)

Say what you will about needs at WR, Britt and Nate with D-Will in the slot is a serviceable trio

 

No one will argue we need a fierce pass rusher, but Klug and Ayers can become that. Even Morgan when healthy can be that. IMO it's not our biggest need. Our CB's are as good as any, they make up for the lack of a speed rusher by sticking with their WR's so long.

We haven't really given up tons of points to say Defense is our first need. We need to have a balanced offense by somehow improving the run game. A good run game makes your defense look better by keeping them off the field. Going offensive line early is the way I'd hope we go.

 

I don't think Klug will ever be a fierce pass rusher, he'll get some sacks from DT like he did this year, but he'll never be a force that teams scheme against. That's not a bad thing, I just don't think he has the ability to be that great of a pass rusher, not many DT's do. Ayers probably can, he has some moves, but will we ever use him primarily as a pass rushing LB? I have my doubts. And even if Morgan pans out I don't think he'll ever be a sack monster, he wasn't even that great at getting sacks in college, and again it's not a bad thing, it's just not his style of play. I want a pass rushing specialist.

 

if we can collapse the pocket with a disruptive DT we will avoid these long runs. we dont need a sack artist as much as we need a disruptive force to hurry the QB and give em less time to pick us apart. OR we need another big run stopping NT type to hold blocks AND a pass rush DE/scheme to get pressure.

personally I would much rather go with the DT to cause issues in the interior of the pocket. keeps coverage at max when we get good pressure with just a front 4 while still throwing in the blitz once in awhile.

we could possibly get Zeitler in the second round as a guard... Wisconsin kid, stupid strong. smart.

 

One of my good friends goes to Wisconsin and he is dying that we get one of their linemen. He's also a Titans fan.
