Are they too similar. 104.5 guys talking about the timeshare between the 2, talking about how similar there running styles are- big, one cut guys, patient lateral runners. Is that our problem. Do we need a quick shifty back like devontae freeman? Do we need a jones drew type? Seems like we have a lot of runs for loses? I like our backs, just wondering is it wise to have 2 cut from the same cloth.

But no, I don’t think it is a problem.

If you do one thing really well, keep doing it. Problem is, neither are doing it really well. Or as well as they were last year anyways.

I think Murray should probably have his carries reduced, and Henry by this time, should have made us comfortable being a starter by now. The type of back isn’t the problem, as much as the backs are.

I'll agree that we need a change of pace back. In GB, the perception was that the line was unable to block for the run as effectively as the pass. Then along comes Aaron Jones and smashes that theory to pieces. I think the guy we drafted in the 7th last year is a bit too extreme, but I'd like to see how a smaller, more elusive back would perform in this offense.

Has anyone sat down and watched much 2017 film? I haven't been able to yet, but I feel like from watching the games that neither back is really being given much to work with. It seems like they're getting met in the backfield a lot and not given many holes at all.

It's the age old question of does the running back make a good run game, or does the OL? Personally I think it's both, but if the line does give much room to run you better have Barry Sanders or Shady McCoy back there.

If the hole is there... Murray usually gets the yards. Henry sometimes gets the yards. But we are running into 8 man boxes pretty much always right now so... you have to ask is it the play calling or coaches underminding the locomotive?

Ftr Murray can create yards... henry really isn't that guy.

We know one guy who can't create yards- Mularkey. I'm pretty sick of seeing us running the goal line formation on our own twenty yard line.

I think Murray has lost a step, but with his style you dont need that 5th gear.

The real issue IMO is play calling. When a defense knows the down and distance theyre playing the situation, and our play caller isnt creative enough to get a step ahead of anyone. Defenses know what we're doing before we do it, thats on the coaches...
