And you guys whine about the BCS? I'm looking at the rankings, which will eventually hand out top seeds to undeserving teams..but my god, look:

#4 Duke (22-4) -- Well it's duke of course they'll be high, I'm surprised North Carolina is #5, those two teams could lose 10 in a row and be ranked. Last win vs ranked team Feb. 4th.

#7 WVU (22-6) -- Lose 3 of last 5, and the two wins in between are vs. Providence and Seton Hall, still in the top 10.

#8 Villanova (23-5) -- See that record of 23-5? You lose 4 of your last 7 and you're still in the top 10? Wow. Must be nice.

#9 OSU (23-7) -- LoL. 4 game stretch vs Wisconsin, Minnesota, Michigan, and Indiana. You lose 3 of those. Somehow still in top 10.

#11 Georgetown (19-8) -- This team is ridiculous. Lose 3 of last 4, 5 of last 9. You lose to Old Dominion, Marquette, South Florida, Rutgers..and ranked 11th. Amazing.

#14 Michigan State (21-7) -- Lose 4 of last 6 with wins vs Penn State and Indiana, and still ahead of a team that beats Kentucky and Kansas.

#17 Tennessee (21-7) -- Apparently losing to #24 Vanderbilt and #2 Kentucky back to back means more than beating #1 Kansas and #2 Kentucky. Shocker.

I'm still waiting for Conneticut or North Carolina to get a 3 seed based on name alone. It's likely to happen. Why is everyone quick to whine about BCS when the tourney isn't any better..?

They matter in determining the seeds, which leaders to easier matchups in the playoffs. So they do matter quite a bit :hmm:

Why is Louisville not number 1? If they can beat syracuse home and away, then how is Syracuse the best team in the country?

a lot more goes into determining the seeding than the top 25 rankings. there's a good chance ohio state, who is ranked number 7 right now, will be a 1 seed.

Seeds don't infact matter in NCAA BB... However, unlike NCAA Football, you are rewarded for playing a tough schedule in BB, where as in football, if you play the toughest schedule in America, you have no chance at winning at the title (Because not many teams play the toughest schedule and go undefeated)

    Example:
    2009 BCS Strength of Schedule
    1. South Carolina
    2. Florida St
    3. Oklahoma
    4. Mississippi St
    5. Minnesota
    6. Arkansas
    7. Georgia
    8. Virginia Tech
    9. Tennessee
    10. Michigan St

What's ironic about this? NOT ONE OF THESE TEAMS even got to a BCS game.

Quite simple, because if you are #65 or #1 in the big dance, you at least have a shot at the NATL Championship. In football, you aim to play the weakest schedule while playing in an inflated conference, and hope to be #1 or #2 at the end of the year.

The difference between BCS and NCAA BB is that these artificial rankings don't setup the national championship game, where as in BCS, if you get lucky to get ranked top 5 preseason, but have a weak schedule and or weak conference (Yes Texas, you are guilty too) then you will almost certainly play for the natl championship.

Houston Cougars burst Memphis' bubble. Sorry dudes. Two more wins and we will burst another bubble. We have the nation's leading scorer too...no other way to say it, dangerous.

Ah, March Madness shall soon be upon us. That's the best part about College bal, once the tournament kicks off you can throw the rankings out the window.
