High draft picks don't guarantee anything. Look and Kendall and CJ. Obviously the best two draft pick we've had since Albert, both taken later in the first round. We just need to be able to properly evaluate talent and needs, which I think Webster has shown he can much better than MR

Really really hard to score a QB in the bottom half of the round tho. At that point it almost becomes a reach.

Better to reach late than at 8 overall. QB are crap shoots almost always. It's really really hard to score one period

I do agree. That's why I also like this QB class.

High draft picks guarantee you have more players from which to choose. And if you're re-building, having more choices is good. Picking high has no bearing on the performance of the player you pick, however, it allows a GM to have MORE options of who to pick. And that is extremely important.

Meh, yes and no. Technically yes, but how many times have we've seen someone trade up into the first round to get another guy they like. A GM has so many options that taking away 15 players really has such a small fraction of difference making.

If you walk away with 3 guys who can have an impact for your team the next year then you are doing well.

But you have to give up choices by forfeiting a subsequent pick. Are we REALLY arguing that having an earlier pick to use doesn't offer an advantage when rebuilding?

No not at all. It does, but that amount that it does isn't as big as you think it is.

No I'd say it is bigger than you think it is. We just disagree
