ive realized that for weeks.....
We have no chance of going 8-8. Any 8-8 play off team is going to have their lunch money stolen in the first game.
Nick Foles was a third rd pick. 16tds and 0 ints.
So what is the point then just to quit for the next 9 years so we can stockpile high draft picks and be a super bowl team?
And the likely opponent in the first playoff game will be the Chiefs who don't score a lot of points.
We have already played some of the best teams in the nfl and didn't get blown out.
Honestly i think this all or nothing attitude is infantile and i don't know what you guys are arguing for.
The coaching staff is not going to lay down their jobs are at stake.
Yea, they didn't lay down for the Jags, they bent over.
The are the top contenders for the last wild card spot...
And you guys want to quit? We have beaten 3 of those teams and can beat another on Sunday!
Anybody who wants to quit games in the middle of a playoff race is a gutless moron who can go to hell!!!!
Quit the next 9 years? Where did you get that?
Let's see in order....
1. I, for one, have never said "SB or bust", I will be perfectly happy with a team that shows up EACH and EVERY week and competes. After that I don't think it is too much for a fan to demand that a playoff appearance happen every couple of years (the NFL is now designed for that to happen with FA, and the drafting order).
2. As of now it does appear the first round would be the chiefs at arrowhead, tough place to play, we played well enough to win against them before but, as it happens with this team, we found a way to lose. But, we, the Titans must get there first...agreed?
3. I don't see anything "infantile" about being sick and tired of the status quo regarding this team...rather I would counter, as the saying goes, "to keep doing the same thing and expect different result" is the essence of futility, some say insanity. But to each his own.
4. I hope the coaches do believe that their jobs are at stake, but I am not convinced that either they believe it or that their jobs are, in fact, at stake. Truth is we, Titans fans, have zero idea how the new CEO will operate and will have to wait and see. Since these owners are not local and prefer a, and let's be kind here, hands off approach to the franchise they may well be satisfied to live where ever the **** they live and may in fact view the Titans as just a piece of their holdings.
Calm down, your above post is true about the playoff chase....what is also true is the "chase for draft order" seen below
Now as you can see we currently set with the 8th worst record in the league, which would give us at this point the number 8 pick. Mediocrity is ****ing great isn't it?
If you are excited, or holding out hope for making the playoffs at 8-8......well.....thats pretty damn sad.
I don't know what the majority 'rule' is, but mine, along with what I have read and been receiving high 5s for is; the fact I don't care what the Titans do right now.
