floyd takes on double teams quite a bit at florida and held his ground pretty dang well, while being a beast against the run and constantly putting pressure on the qb...judt because he isnt 330 lbs you guys think he cant take on double teams when he did it this past year quite a bit ....i'd welcome it because you can find a starting oline player more often than you can a starting dt in the later rounds

No way. I'm not against going DE but I'm against Werner. I've literally never seen a player take so many plays off in my life. If the play is not to his side of the field he just stands up and watches. There have even been scouts recently talking about how he's nowhere near an elite talent.

There is a difference between taking on double teams against college lineman and going against NFL caliber guards and centers. There is also a difference between just being doubled and clogging running lanes while you are doubled and a sub 300 pound player will not do either in the NFL. If you want evidence of that look no farther then our own Jurrell Casey who is a good defensive tackle that can both penetrate and stuff the run but was unable to eat double teams for us.

Floyd will be a good player but we've loaded ourselves with small penetrating tackles before and it does not work. For a 4-3 defense to be truly effective you need a NT and an UT.

No he's not...we have too many 3 techniques...we need a big guy...not someone who does the exact same things as our other DT's

Can we just get Chris Canty already so people can stop thinking we're taking a DT?!? lol

You can still always get decent guards. A strong DT, that is hard. I would be happy either way. In the end I would rather get a dominant DT but at the same time Warmack is probably the safest pick in the draft.

Not like we are not trying. Dude wants to play in his home town of Charlotte. And he is willing to take less money to do so. Only way we get him is if the Panthers do not want him at all. Which I doubt.
