I just wish the refs were as critical about the offense as they are the defense. I wish they made it a point to remain indifferent and call the play based on evidence. QBs in college football looove to run. Any player, for that matter, that is running with the football in the field of play should be treated equally. If the player is already in his slide when the defenseman launches that is one thing.. but they are so eager to throw that flag just to avoid criticism that they will throw it on a defenseman that was already off his feet and the runner slid himself into direct helmet contact with the player. The NCAA is so spineless they will coach the refs that when in doubt, throw the flag. Its gotten to the point that you have to wonder if some coaches that aren't particularly known for their integrity are coaching their offensive players on sliding themselves into that contact and drawing a flag. If you can slide and be in the process of leaning back at the same time, you can get a little bit of that helmet to helmet contact without getting your bell rung too bad and get a huge penalty! 15-yards, automatic first down, and take a player out of the game! All you have to do after contact is take a page out of the soccer field manual and roll around on the ground like you've lost an eye for a minute long enough for the refs to see.

That "targeting" call in the Bama vs Texas A&M was a joke.

You cannot play defense in football anymore, that much is clear.

The problem I have with the call in the Bama and Texas A and M game was the fact that they reversed the call, admitting there was no need to eject the player because he was not targeting but the 15 yard penalty still stands!!!! How is that possible??? NCAA you need to get the rules correct before implementation, Thank you!

A punt return is the perfect opportunity to send a bench player after a star to get him out of the game.

I think it is a good rule but taking 15 yards anyway is stupid.

The nfl needs to have that rule.

The NFL needs to institute the college replay system, period. With up-tempo offenses infiltrating the NFL the amount of time to get a replay that shows the coaches in the booth a good enough view of the play is getting harder and harder.
