Uhh except they totally chit the bed in the Jags game. The then 2-13 Jags that was critical to beat for a playoff spot. They weren't driven in that game to be the very best they could be, they were grossly unprepared, failed to execute and by the coach's own admission flat pre-game in the locker room. Personally, I think they knew that hadn't been properly prepared.

So there was nothing "same Ole Titans" that choked away another playoff opportunity to a division opponent.

These are grown men taking a paycheck. They play for championships and money. Not hollow meaningless victories. They don't want to risk injury on something like a "moral victory".

    1. A win raises the bar for next season
    2. Knock the Texans down a peg before the playoffs (I do not want to see an AFC South team other then the Titans make a run in the playoffs

They're highly competitive men that have a lot of pride. They're not going to go down without a fight just because they're not going to the playoffs. If they have the mentality that they can take it easy now, they don't deserve to be on a team at all.

Notes. Murray needs 34 yards for 1300. Titans have lost 8 of last 9 games to Texans. Only worse against the Colts.

Tanney came in later and actually played better. Texans may tank because the don't need this game, although Savage needs reps. Pittsburgh is resting Roth, Bell, etc., Not tanking but not playing your best. That fair?

Dont know if it helps, but it would be nice to finish the season 9-7 and on a winning note than 8-8 with 2 straight division losses. It sucks we missed the playoffs, but its hard to deny the improvement. Much better in the win column and competitive in every game except one. Bad games happen to every team. It sucks ours happened with so much on the line but it did.
But at least we go into the off season with the thought that we can be really good next year after we add just a few more players, instead of knowing we will suck, no thought of playoff, wondering who are coach will be, wishing our owner would sell the team etc.
