NFL cracking down on helmet-to-helmet hits it appears

Nowadays you only have to graze a Q.Bs helmet with yours and you get fined. Just ask Albert.

 

Well it was just ridiculous in Al's case. There's only so much you can try to regulate w/o making this flag football.

 

This was body-to-body, not helmet-to-helmet.
The rule was added to penalize head butts, not what you see here.

It would be bad to lose Albert for a significant portion of a game though. It would also leave us very thin at DT.

 

The rule has not changed just some of the penalties. And the ejection is only for "flagrant" helmet to helmet hits. It's not the QB who is the main recipient of these hits but rather Wrs going over the middle.

I do think there is concern that players may be going after QBs trying to get them out of the game. If you can take the opposing QB or another key player out of the game for only the cost of a 15 yard penalty it is obviously worth it. Now you lose that guy.

Not sure what albert has to do with all this. His penalty against schaub was a BS call because he fell naturally on him and wasn't trying to thrust all his weight on his head or other sensitive area...

 

I'd like to see some reprimands on the officials for making poor calls. This one against Albert was :bsflag:.

You got calls for flagrant this and flagrant that, what about one for the ref's being a flagrant dumb****.

 

Then a couple of years after that flags in the waist band.)
