NFL rule changes

    the heck?? Wasn't it always like this and they're just making it complicated? I thought they could always choose whether to kick or receive??

    They could. But they didn't receive the ball the second half. So if a team won the toss, elected to be on defense at the start of the game, they would also likely start on defense the second half.

    With the new rule, they defer the decision which means, 99% of the time, they want to receive the football the start of the second half. The team who loses the coin flip will 99% receive the football at the start of the game because they know they'll start on defense the second half.

    Yep, is just like in college... now most teams will choose to recieve in the second half.
