Hey Cruds, what happened to those totally awesome badges you guys were sporting?
Dinger v Palmer..
Dinger 8 years OC average in total offense 18.6..
Palmer 6 years OC average in total offense 21.3
Now consider that Dinger took over the titans offense in 2000 with numerous first rate players with experience. Mcnair-George-Wycheck-Mason-Hopkins-Matthews. Dinger took over an offense of a super bowl team!
Palmer on the other hand was given a rookie QB who sucked and an expansion offense with no offensive line.
Dinger had Mcnair entering his 6th season. Palmer had David Carr entering his 1st season.
Given what they had to work with i think Palmer's numbers might be more impressive.
We know that Palmer can coach talent because when he did have a talented offense with the Jags in 97 and 98 those offense were both top 10.
I think some people still have em.. I change my sig about twice a month..
Well at least he gave Munchak a month before damning the entire coaching staff as scrubs.
Well, not quite a month, I guess 3 weeks.
Well, not quite 3 weeks, more like 2 weeks and a couple days.
But hey, 2 weeks to determine whether or not a staff will be any good, that's fair.
I don't know about the hires, I feel like some were good and some were bad; but I do know this, it is all worth it when Titans Sunday rolls around and I flip on the tube and can ask the question " Wonder what new idea or scheme will be unveiled today." For the last decade you couldn't ask that question, we knew what was coming every single sunday for 10 YEARS!!! (I didn't start watching till 99) Yes, they may turn out to be the same for all we know but until that time I expect a totally different product on the field and some enthusiasim to go with it.
Of course everywhere Lame Kiffin goes ends up in a pile of embers within a season or two. Can't imagine this will all end with Munch getting run out of the state and needing to sue Bud over salary deemed not to be earned..
I bet only a selected few here know much about Chris Palmer, therefor most of these posts mean squat.
Chris Palmer has seen it all. He's been in the USFL, CFL, UFL, NCAA, NFL. He played high school & college football. Coached Doug Flutie and Herschel Walker. Coached every position on offense. During the Run ‘N Shoot days, the Oilers had the NFL’s most productive passing attack. He's sent many players to the Pro Bowl. He's worked under Bill Parcells, and gone to a Super Bowl. Chris Palmer has helped both Ken Whisenhunt & Tony Sparano become excellent NFL head coaches. The man knows the game of football as well as anyone. His only true knock is he's a lousy head coach. But he's not a head coach here so it's irrelevant.
Then there's the fact Chris Palmer has ties to Eli Manning, Tony Romo, David Carr, and Mark Brunell. None of them IMO are worth much, but have all had their good days.
I speak the truth. How long before you guys get out the torches and pitchforks? Week 3?
I wont lie, if this team is 0-3, I'll be quite angry. But I wont tell you we'll suck in February. Give them a shot. There's still free agency, the draft, and months to go.
LOL you're delusional! Let's talk about about the draft. What difference makers has this franchise ever gotten in FA? Kerry Collins?
Separate names with a comma.
