OC Palmer likes rookie TE Taylor Thompson

I'm so excited to see this guy in the pre-season. I know everyone is jumping the gun with him and it's probably doing him no good to see these reports, but he really does have the look of a Jimmy Graham-type player.

 

This kid's potential is OUT OF THIS WORLD! Thompson & Martin are my favorite rookies; neither was a 1st round pick haha. I'm expecting Wright to be pretty good also; Look for Martin to have a long term impact at S too.

 

Gronk has a great feel for his position, amazing instincts too. Thompson can't possibly be that good this year, no way in hell. Goals are good to have, but he won't be Gronk, not this year, probably never.

 

But if he can be a consistent seam threat while being capable run blocker I'm happy.

 

^ Of course he won't be that this year, anyone expecting that is unrealistic. I think I can speak for most Titans fans when I say I'm extremely excited about this player, but don't expect him to have that big of an impact this year -- the excitement is more about what he could be eventually.

 

He is still very raw. From what I saw, he was just playing playground football out there, which is understandable, being that he just switched to TE.

It will be nice to see what he does against other teams. He still needs to work on his hands though.

 

How long do we give him, 2-3 years?

I don't even want to talk about him then.

Hit me up in 2014.

 

That could be a fair assessment... But let's see what he does in these preseason games at the least please.

 

WOW maybe he should play a actual down at the TE position before we start talking about him.
