Not that it matters now but.....
The last 2 plays of the game when the Texans had the ball....we sacked Oswieler but there was an OFFENSIVE hold called, which stopped the clock wit (I think) 23 seconds. We declined.
    1) I saw Mularkey after we took over saying to the ref "we didn't decline it".
    2) Offensive penalty....once the ball was reset, shouldn't the refs had wound (started) the clock?

They were running out of time, got sacked (normally no clock stoppage) AND committed a penalty BUT seemed to have been rewarded for both with the clock stoppage?!?!?!!

Again......doesn't matter now, but curious for "future reference"......

Kinda like our WR getting mugged on the "interception". Even the commentators couldn't get over the non-call.

    Because Titans, that's why.

I was noticing this, too. I saw coach kind of upset speaking to refs after this, and I thought he was talking about a "runoff". I thought this was a situation where you got the 10 second runoff of the game clock, because the clock should've been running had the penalty not been thrown. I'm not clear on the runoff rules, though ... they seem to be enforced at times and not enforced at others.

By declining the penalty, it also voided the 10-sec runoff. That's on Mularkey. Maybe he didn't want to give the Texans another down but I doubt he remembered the 10-second rule.

And the clock should have started as soon as the ball was reset. That's on the refs.

Mularkey said to the officials that he did NOT decline it....so it wasn't on him.

Then the refs just ignored his wishes?

    I can't believe he'd let that slide.

Watching the game on DVR when I got home.....after the 4th down play where we took over to end the game, tv showed him talking to the officials and he was clearly saying "we didn't decline it".
