Because his "activities" with law enforcement...5 arrests I believe, not to mention probation and plea bargains shows a pattern of behavior that he is what the commish said he was. A detriment to the leagues rep.

Why do you think OJ lost the civil trial??? HELLO....because CHARACTER MATTERED THERE.

I'm mixed on the appeal issue. I agree that Pac needs a life-changing event and certainly a one year suspension without pay is life-changing if anything is going to be. However, for me personally, the need for justice and equity supercedes the need to change one players life. Goodell's new policy and how it is administered is unjust for the reasons I've mentioned ad nauseum in prior posts. An appeal is in order to correct the arbitrary and excessive suspension. Keeping him away for the most positive force in his life doesn't support Goodell's statements that he didn't want to make an example out Pac but rather "rehab" him. His suspension and stipulations should be modified to be consistent with Goodell's statements and fair in general.

In regards to Pac- I don't know him. I don't know if a revised 4-6 game suspension is life-changing or not. I certainly think it would be- but only his actions would tell. I don't know if winning an appeal would only serve to enable him to continue his prior behavior patterns. But by all indications through the media (which we can't discredit any more than all the prior information about him we received) he certainly appears contrite. He has apologized to the league, team, and fans. He has discussed plans to return to WVU to obtain a degree.

You might want to read a few labor and employment decisions between laughs.

"This standard of proof in a civil lawsuit is significantly easier to satisfy than the “beyond a reasonable doubt” standard of a criminal case. In a civil lawsuit, the case must be proved by a “preponderance of the evidence,” that is, by enough evidence to conclude that it is more likely than not that the victim’s claims are true. A victim can still pursue a civil lawsuit, even if the criminal prosecution resulted in a “not guilty” verdict. Criminal prosecutions require a unanimous decision by all twelve jurors, which can be difficult to achieve. Civil lawsuits require agreement by only ten of twelve jurors for a decision. These significant differences between civil and criminal cases were underscored in the highly publicized O.J. Simpson case. The families of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman were able to obtain a $33.5 million dollar settlement against O.J. Simpson in civil court even though he had been acquitted of the murders in the criminal prosecution."

Unjust? It's their freakin business, their league. This is capitolism, not socialism. They can run their business any way they want to. If someone is bringing a bad rep to their business and they determine that is costing them money or they don't like it, they can do what they want. If adam doesn't like it, he is free not to deal with them at any time.

adam jones does not have the "right" to play football in the NFL. He has been given the opportunity and he has _____ed it up!

If you have your own business, you should consult an attorney immediately for an education and liability reduction. If you don't, I'm not surprised.
