So let's suppose for whatever reason we decide to forgo any thought of a QB and address our biggest deficiency on defense and go get us a pass rusher or 2. What are your thoughts on these guys (you like/don't like, order of preference, round you would draft)? These are in no particular order. I watch tape without sound so I have no idea what soundtrack or commentary is on the youtube vids I posted. As always, it's best to watch a whole game and keep in mind different levels of competition!

    Randy Gregory (6-6, 245)

    Vic Beasely (6-2, 235)

    Shaq Thompson (6-2, 230)

    Shane Ray (6-3, 245)

    Shilique Calhoun (6-4, 255)

    Dante Fowler Jr. (6-2, 260)

Would love to take Hauoli Kikaha in the 2nd round, first round talent, early knee injuries concern me.

Would also love to take two pass-rushers in the first two rounds, replace Morgan and Wimbley.

We have 4 major problems right now and I'm not sure all 4 need new personel. The 4 problem areas are pass rush (need new personel), OL play, QB play and WR play. IMO...especially if you are someone who leans closer to BPA in the draft, you should take the best players that fit your needs. Since this draft is loaded with pass rushers and we could use 2, I would like to aquire 2 pass rushers in this draft. 2 will be available whether we get two in our first 2 picks or 1 in the first and another with a mid-rnd pick.

There are exceptions to this, but I would approach the draft right now thinking - who are the best pass rushers (OLB) and where can I get them?

I'm not sold on Kikaha as a 1st rnd talent yet. He has a ton of sacks but not a lot vs top level ppl and he has Shelton and Shaq Thompson for teams to worry about also. I need to watch more tape on him and the knee stuff is an issue...especially for a pass rusher. Dupree, as a flip to that, has fewer sacks but has NO ONE on his D that scare teams and Dupree just played pretty well against LSU...beating a first rnd talent at LT. point is, there are a lot of these guys and it will be fun to see who likes who and to get a nice discussion going:)

Would like to see a pass rush 'DL' of say...Beasely, Casey, Klug, and Gregory!!! I think we could get a nice 4 man rush with that!!!

I like Beasley, but he's undersized to be drafting in the Top-8 (where I think we'll be). Right now, my favorite is Randy Gregory, but I think JAX will pull the trigger on him.

Vic Beasly I see listed anywhere from 6-2 230lbs to 6-3 235lbs. Von Miller went 2nd overall and was 6-3 245lbs by the combine.

Everyone likes Gregory because of his size, but he's not nearly as smooth a pass rusher as Beasly....but with his size/speed/length he might be better in the pros but you have to project him developing more as a pass rusher. Beasly has the opposite problem if he can't fill out to the 245-250lb range in that if he's stuck around 6-2 230, how effective can he be at OLB in a 3-4 system. Is he more a Mathis type that is good despite his smaller stature or will it hurt his playing style?

I think people will put Gregory and Fowler very high because of their athleticism and size more than their play. I'll be interested to see how far up Dupree rises because of his size and athleticism even though he's on a less visible team and doesn't have eye-popping stats.

The top of this draft is gonna be VERY interesting with the QB's available and what teams think of them and if teams like Jags and Raiders end up 1 and 2 because they supposedly have their franchise QB's.

I haven't watched much of Gregory, but I did watch his game against Michigan last year. Taylor Lewan absolutely dominated him. Totally took him out of the game.
