http://espn.go.com/womens-college-b...28864/pat-summitt-steps-aside-coach-lady-vols Sad. Alzheimers is one of the worst ways to live, then to die. I'd rather die at 65 and have my wits about me, than live to 90 with Alzheimers. I used to work at a retirement home. This disease basically strips you of all dignity. Truly horrible.
It is very sad considering her success as a coach and process of the disease which I am personally familar with. She is truly one of the best if not the best basketball coach at least in recently times.
She was, is, and always will be a class act. On and off the court. God bless her and good luck to her!
The only silver lining to this is that she will be hopefully healthy enough to appreciate the praise she'll receive. All well-deserved.
My great grandma died from Alzheimer's. Probably the worst disease there is. I'm going to hire a hitman to kill me if I ever get Alzheimer's.
Better make arrangments now. All jokes aside you will probably forget. My mother has advanced dementia and has otherwise been healthy all her life. It is liken to a computer that slowly deletes files until it crashes. It is good to still have her but sad to see her as she is and remember how she use to be. Make every day count for something. You only get a limited number.
