I am a fan of Eddie Vedder the man. He's done some wonderful stuff for folks that need help.
But most of their music doesn't hit the mark for me.

I dig Pearl Jam. But Pink Floyd is on another level.

A musician explained to me once, and if this is wrong I am sure it is my non-music arse that misunderstood, that PF was 'minor' and that most music is 'major' or something.

Well, they used to play a lot of Em-A jams....this the "Home..home again..." line at the end of "Time". This theme appears a lot in their earlier works. They do use a lot of minor chord voicings to make it sound downer.
*referring to Gilmour/Waters era Floyd of course

I refer to that era as Post-Sid. Then the aptly named "The Final Cut" ended that time.
