    If that is a direct quote from Rivers and not just Cole's opinion then this is very interesting indeed. I'm all over Rivers to TN. I just hope it's not a straight up deal for #2.

    I don't like any Rivers trade as our first option with that #2 pick. My order of preference would be to pour cold water on this Rivers talk to the press and other NFL teams. Talk up youth movement and how Mariota or Winston will give us plenty to build around. "Privately" let Browns, Rams, Jets, Eagles know that barring a "substantial" trade, we're taking one or the other. "Privately let Chargers know we're interested in Rivers only if a deal is favorable. Then we entertain calls until 2 minutes before our card is due and take the best offer. That's how we'll get max value out of that #2 pick.

    Lets just think rationally about this.

    Rivers wants out of San Diego for one big reason. He doesn't want to move his family from San Diego, to LA.

    That is about a 4 hour drive in traffic, so why on earth would he move them all the way across the country?

    This just doesn't make sense unless Rivers is using us for leverage in contract negotiations, which is likely what this is.

    Look if we were just "a QB away" so to speak I would be ok with the deal but we need so many pieces that there really is no point to it. Draft the top D player or trade back for picks and build. Even if we did the trade and rivers played great we are a 8-8 AT BEST type of team. Stupid trade.
