Rumor Phillip Rivers would "love" to play out his career for the Titans and ex-Chargers OC Ken Whisenhunt

Those draft picks are based on a draft value calculator. The 6th pick overall is still a really great spot to be in. If we get a 2nd, we are sitting really well. I wouldn't be sad with those picks at all. That first next year, while it could be in the late teens will still be of value if we want to package it next year or use it on a player.

I understand Rivers could choose another team if he is an FA next year but we still have a good chance to nab him. If Rivers doesn't come here, there should be other options at QB, and if Mett doesn't work out then chances are we lose a lot and we draft high next year. That draft pick with the Jet's first allows us to package it and move up to take a QB we might like next year.

 

If you are doing this off of the draft calculator, then you have to devalue the next years picks by 1 round (for the exact reasons that @SawdustMan mentioned below). And from what I understand, that is common practice for how the NFL use the chart.

So a 1st round next year would be valued as a 2nd round on the draft chart.

 

Rivers seems like he loves the game, I doubt he retires anytime soon

Not all injuries are equal.

 

No offense but JC is the last person I listen to when talking about injuries after he swore up and down locker wasn't injury prone since he never hurt the same body part more than once.
