Well if that's true we need to give him #29....

That reminds me, I can't wait until we get to play the Texans this year.

Comment on Johnson in today's Tennessean:

Russ Lande, an NFL analyst for The Sporting News, said he thinks Johnson has a chance to be a special player, but was concerned by something he saw when watching practices for the Senior Bowl, a major pre-draft showcase in January.

Lande said he and a friend in the business "looked at each other on the last day and said, 'Can you believe how ordinary Chris Johnson looked once he was playing with all these big-timers?'

"You didn't even know he was there, and that was kind of frightening," Lande added. "But at the NFL Combine (in February) he was unbelievable, and at his workouts he was great. On film, it's wow! But that one week he didn't do anything to catch your attention. So it makes you think.''

Russ Lande is just another "draft expert". Who cares what he thinks. Apparently the Titans like Johnson enough to make him their first round pick.

Well, they are saying he looked ordinary at practice for an All Star game. That really doesn't mean much to me at all. I mean do they even tackle people at these practices. To me, it seems like a poor time to analyze a players skills. Sure, he going against other top flight talent, but in what kind of environment. A bland offense, a Bland defense, plays you don't even know, coaches you never met, and against players with no real game plan or scouting. I don't even trust a player who stands out, because everybody is trying to teach, learn, and justget through the weekend. I think it would be nice to hear he stands out, but I don't take much stock in this myself.

"Johnson simply stole the show on the ground, hitting holes with his speed and strength and powering by tacklers. He also showed excellent field vision when returning kicks on special teams."

    Another.

"Although Johnson is out of the Under Armour Senior Bowl with a sprained shoulder, he showed great elusiveness earlier in the week. He’s a game-breaker who possesses elite speed and elusiveness, and is able to break through the smallest seams. Johnson is also a very good receiver out of the backfield and displayed sure hands when he was on the field."

"It was tough for the running backs to stand out in a practice like this but East Carolina's Chris Johnson was shifty and showcased his ability to make people miss. Justin Forsett also displayed good speed and elusiveness on a long run."

"California running back Just Forsett had another good day. He's real shifty and seems to be the North's top runner, especially with East Carolina's Chris Johnson M.I.A."

I'm under the impression that CJ didn't want to do too much at the Senior Bowl to risk injury. Which is why he bowed out due to a bogus injury 2 days into the week.

I noticed this also in that article...

"The emergence of Califorina’s Lavelle Hawkins (5-11, 186), who probably did more to enhance his draft status than any player in Mobile this week, generated buzz around Ladd-Peebles Stadium. Hawkins ran crisp routes and caught everything in sight, proving he also is first-round worthy."

    Noice. :grrhee:
