The link below is a news story about Popcorn Sutton a name that was not that well know until his arrest for manufacture and posession of illegal moonshine that I would rather think of as "undocumented cold remedy". Popcorn took his own life in March, before reporting to prison, allegedly stating that without his cigarettes and moonshine "life was not worth living". A large number of people are expected to attend him memorial tomorrow including Hank Williams Jr. It is not clear how the two were acquainted. Popcorn may not have been a hero to all but certainly a throw back to earlier times when people were more free to make their own path in life. Good bye Popcorn we are not likely to see the likes of your kind again. http://www.knoxnews.com/news/2009/oct/10/memorial-to-honor-life-of-legendary-moonshiner/
Eh. I've been to Eastern Kentucky/West Virginia-the bad parts: There are plenty of Popcorn's kind around. And they're multiplying.
I heard this Johnny Knoxville interview of Popcorn after he was convicted, but I hadn't heard he killed himself. That's terrible. Oh well, at least the Feds got rid of one source of tax free spirits... Warning, The language Popcorn uses in this is X-rated... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0b5mW2QF6H4&feature=player_embedded The embedded was disabled, click the youtube link...
