    Nintendo is a failed console maker. Aside from the gimmicky Wii that fell through very quickly, they haven't done a whole lot with consoles since SNES.

    They should either stick to handhelds or release software onto other consoles and reap the profits from that.

    No, it isn't. Nintendo's own website calls it's a console.

    Realistically it's a console - gimmick or not - that enters mid-console life of ever more popular Sony and Microsoft consoles.
