Previous draftees at 17

    Run the picks at 18 or 19 or 20. You get the same type of group of guys. Certainly trading down isn't going to increase your chances (why would it) and while I wouldn't mind trading down the logistics of finding a trading partner to do that isn't very good.

    The only scenario that makes sense is if a team wants to trade up for a specific player and there is no way to know that before the draft so it would be a draft day deal (like the trade with the Texans).

    Doesnt look much better as the draftees at 17.

    Emmitt Smith was a 17th pick in 1990 so i guess he makes up for the mediocre players since.

    What does it all mean? Nothing, not a damn thing.

    Not too shabby, considering where it's at. It's hit or miss every pick. The first pick has it's fair share of busts.

    Geez, relax guys.
    Of course its not sience. Its a "gimmick" (I am not sure if this is the right english word i am looking for).
    We all know that we cant take any rational conclussions out of it.
