one of my favorite scenes from Alien was when the crew was waking up. That was probably a few minutes where I thought the director did an excellent job of getting you to identify with the characters. But there was absoutly nothing at all 'action' about that scene, well a young Weaver was a kind of action I guess - WTF ever happened to Ripleys cat???
I hope they go the horror route with Prometheus similar to Alien. Although I'm a fan of the military sci-fi from Aliens, so that will work as well.
It spawned cat aliens and they took over the Earth because the hippies were to busy protesting The Corporation.
In Aliens Jones was left on the Weyland Industries base station while Ripley and the Marines went back to the colonized planet. Exit Jones, stage right... One of the things I'm interested in seeing is what the alien form was before encountering Prometheus. Alien 3 revealed to us that the xenomorphs take on the attributes of their reproductive hosts (i.e. the dogs). The first xenomorph walked upright- the product of a human host. The queen xenomorph in Aliens walked with a fowl-like gait. The trailer reveals the facehugger eggs as a smooth and cylindrical form rather than the conventional egg shape we're used to. The Space Jockey's ship has a very biomechanical appearance, as does the xenomorph's anatomy... chicken or egg? Oh NOO!!! I'm a :geek:
Color me cautiously optimistic. Remember, this is the Ridley Scott that hasn't given film goers a truly worthwhile film since 2003 (Matchstick Men). Not saying this won't be good, but Scott seriously hasn't been a good filmmaker in damn near a decade.
No, I'm one of those people that like entertaining films. Guarantee you've watched more dumb action flicks in the past year than I have over the course of 3.

True that. I blame his relationship with Russell Crowe. The pair have chosen some terrible projects. Fantastic cast and the brilliant music from the trailer. I think he's back on form form this.
