Do the safety rules end up helping, hurting, or no difference comparing running qbs vs true pocket passer qbs?

I think officials are more likely to throw the flag if a guy is immobile compared to someone who has the ability to get out of a tough spot.

You can't even touch Tom Brady or Peyton Manning while Aaron Rodgers and Ben Roethlisberger tend to get the crap knocked out of them way more.

Well its hard to throw a flag for roughing the passer on Rothlisberger since you just about have to rough him if you want to take him down.

But I don't think it really matters as far as running QB or not. I think it just depends on who the QB is. Peyton and Brady are big names that like to complain to the refs therefore they get all the calls. KFC was a statue, and he didn't draw all the stupid penalties that PM and TB do.

Good point. Maybe that's once you become a HoFer the NFL refs will help/benefit you more because you are one of the real money makers?

What I really wondered is how players might react going at QBs these days, with pump fakes. I would think it has some impact for running QBs.

It's a tough situation and you can't help but feel for the guys rushing. Just ask Mathias Kiwanuka.

Yeah! Great example of what I'm talking about. How's it going to effect player reaction in the longrun?

Tough being an athletic QB these days, you're almost better off being slow, at least that way this would get a flag.

Mike Vick gets crushed weekly, but if the refs throw a flag or blow a play dead, he never gets a chance to work his magic.

The best part about that is you can see the ref waving his arms behind the play to signal the play dead, then VY gets dropped on his head. Total garbage.

I don't think it will affect most guys. You can see some guys let up a little now(Michael Griffin), but most guys still hit with everything they can and just complain later.
