If I understand correctly, widescreen offers a little more picture on both sides of the screen, right? Meaning that you'll actually see more than "normal" screen? So are tv broadcasts is wide, normal, or both? Just want some clarification before I buy my next tv.
HD broadcasts in widescreen. Standard definition is broadcast in full screen. Standard definition broadcasts viewed on widescreen TV's have bars going down either side of the screen (similar to the bars on the top and bottom when viewing a widescreen feature on a standard TV).
