There are some pros and cons about waiting until later in life to settle down.
I knew I wasn't ready in my 20s and 30s. I was too busy partying and traveling the world. As for women, why buy the cow when the milk is free? I loved the idea that every day I would show up for work coming from a different direction and wearing the exact same thing I was wearing when I left work.
Other pros; I have a huge 11 year old house that is paid off, I'm more laid back, my job is secure with options for retirement, 'cadillac' health insurance, plenty of money stashed away that my wife hasn't found yet and as for my 35 year old wife, that Levitra stuff works like a charm!!!
Cons; My retirement date is in 6 years. I have a 3 and 7 year old daughters. That would make them 9 and 13 years old when I can retire. So, it looks like I'll stay at work a few more years rather than early retirement. Because of our lack of bills, (most everything was paid off before I got married), and my laidback-ish approach, the marriage appears to be a lot smoother. If you want kids, you gotta' hurry up! They are worth it.

A large part of my motivation to marry was the desire to have children.

    I couldn't have a child with someone I didn't love.
    (at least I wouldn't)
It's funny that you mention that though.

I'm a Roman Catholic, so, I really kid you not...

there was actually mention of procreation in our vows.
    it wasn't anything we wrote...

it was just standard fare for a Catholic wedding with a Catholic priest.

all too often it's lust for money. :greedy:

also known as avarice... another deadly sin.

other deadly sins include...pride, envy, wrath, sloth, gluttony.
...and of course... the forementioned lust.

just call me Deacon Bipolar. :winker:

or Kevin Spacey from the movie Se7en.

I used to have a pair of boxer shorts with Homer Simpson and the seven vices . An image of him depicting each sin.

    the virtues are a joke.

Pope Gregory the Great came up with the Seven Deadly Sins and Seven Corporal Works of Mercy.

    1. Feed the hungry
    2. Give drink to the thirsty
    3. Clothe the naked
    4. Shelter the homeless
    5. Visit the imprisoned
    6. Visit the sick
    7. Bury the dead

works of mercy just don't get enough play in Hollywood...

    maybe not... :hmm:

Pay it Forward was a pretty good movie...I took my wife when I was married....shudder that thought. She along with every woman in there cried like a baby at the way it ended.
