JACKSONVILLE - Two picture perfect throws by Buffalo second-year quarterback Trent Edwards snuffed out all the energy and enthusiasm the Jaguars had built in the second half.
As a result, two fourth-down conversions, a beautifully executed onsides kick and a sack and forced fumble by Quentin Groves didn't mean a lot.
The Jaguars played physical football. But big plays at the crucial moments still came from the visitors, who survived temperatures in the 90s.
David Garrard will likely go to bed pondering an end zone interception he threw just before the half. The Jags defense had two sacks, but not enough pressure overall on Edwards who used the time and space he could find well.
The Jags had hoped their Week 3 trip to Indianapolis would be about first place in the AFC South. Instead, after a 20-16 loss to Buffalo, it will be about last. As they take on the Colts at Lucas Oil Stadium next Sunday, they'll already be two games behind the Titans' pace.
