the article was talkin about what they hav done an will do w/ respect to romo.....but i really dont care. what struke me was when they talked about tagging their qb.....they said

"would have to pay him the average of the five highest quarterback salary-cap numbers in 2008, which is expected to be over $14 million" --Adam Schefter | NFL Network

14 million.....thats incredible for one yr...

For some reason, Tony Romo seems like a fluke to me still. He seems like the type that'll just fall off the face of the earth after a few good seasons.

yeah, I have to agree with you to a point. Romo reminds me of the Kurt Warner, Tommy Maddox come from nowhere feel good story. except with each passing game I start to realize Romo may really be the real deal, but then after the game is over I just tell myself all over again, "he's going to suck soon enough" but he always proves me wrong

Romo doesn't impress me that much either, sort of seems to be a system guy instead of his talent. Also you have to consider the stats he is putting up are done primarily in the weaker nfc where he plays 75% of his games. One only needs to looks at the interconference records to see how much this fact alone means. cowpokes and giants are to this point considered the class of the nfc, I don't think they would be thought of so highly if they were in the afc, think about it Pats, indy, pittsburgh, ratbirds, Titans, jags, SD, all could be considered at least as good and in most cases would be favorites over both cowpokes and giants. This is not just this year also, if the Titans were an nfc team we I think would have been a solid playoff team last year (10-6).

Bill Parcells sure seemed to believe in his ability, and this is not a knock on anyone in here, but I'd say he is better at evaluating professional football talent than any of us.

Read or heard an interview where Parcells told Romo, "Don't ever let good enough, be good enough." And that's what drive Romo now. I don't know if he'll ever be Troy Aikman, but Tommy Maddox he is not.

I think Romo is my favorite non-Titan right now. He always seems to be having fun. Did anyone see when he tried to celebrate with th ref after throwing a TD and the ref just backed away laughing?

You guys that think Romo is a fluke are nuts. The kid has great instincts, a strong arm that is accurate and a tremendous feel for pressure in the pocket. Add in that he also has some running ability and I'd pretty well think he is going to be one of the better QBs in the NFL if not already. He started 10 games last year and averaged (AVERAGED) 300 yards per game with a QB rating of 95 with 19 TDs. So far this year he is almost exactly averaging the same yardage per game and despite having that one terrible 4 int game in Buffalo he still has a 95.6 rating. He is on pace for more TDs per attempt this year as well.
