I must have missed it when it happened, but I caught it on Real Sports last night. Truly a sad, unfortunate event. I thought that I'd post it just in case others hadn't heard about it either. Coolbaugh, 35, dies after being struck by ball 1st and 3rd base coaches are now required to wear helmets, but this would not have saved him as the ball struck him [at around 100 mph] below his right ear, rupturing the artery. This story states he was in the 1st base coaches box, but the video I saw last night shows different.
