I'm thinking we need to trade #11 for #15-#19. Use that pick on Kony Ealy, Ra'Shede Hageman, Louis Nix, or another defensive stud. In the trade back, we pick up a 3rd.

    1st: Defensive Playmaker
2nd: QB, my pref is Tajh Boyd, right now
    3rd: RB, MLB, or OT
    4th: RB, MLB, or OT

I think Boyd makes it to the third, to be honest. When all of the teams at the top of the first grab QBs there isn't really anyone left to select him. I guess the Cardinals could take him or Mettenberger late in the second.

Your preference is tajh boyd? God that's terrible. And didn't u mention drafting mettenberg or mcarron in the 2nd? All those would be a waste of a perfectly good draft pick.

We should definitely wait til lije the 4th or 5th to take a qb/rb. A rb will slip and a qb will slip. It always happens because of this reason exactly.

Please explain. I've already listed all of Boyds flaws in another thread. There is no perfect QB in this years draft, each have flaws.. Boyds I believe are fixable.

    Short, 6'1 at max
    - Plays out of Shotgun primarily
    - Doesn't play in "pro-style" offense
    - Alot of easy throws; i.e. screens/slants
    - Had two 1st round WRs (DeAndre Hopkings & Sammy Watkins)
    - Slow wind-up
    - Looks to run too early for NFL

Besides height, all of these can be fixed. I'll be watching the combine, pro-day, and senior bowl... thaty'll show if he's worthy of our 2nd. I'm hoping he prooves hisself.

Now TitansJonne broke it down even more:

-Like Brees and Wilson, he has a throwing motion to compensate

-Plays out of the gun but being taught to play under center should be easy for him. VY did it in one offseason lol

-True he did have a lot of easy throws. But two things jump out at me, his ball placement is above average. While Locker makes receivers put a lot of work into their catches(twisting body, diving) Boyd puts great touch allowing receivers to make plays after the catch. Also, he knows how to put enough zip on mid-range throws without putting too much heat on it like Jake does.

-When Hopkins left, Boyd still put on a show this season. Also, Hopkins isn't necessarily lighting up the NFL. When Kendall Wright is just as explosive and dangerous in the NFL as he was at Baylor. Hopkins has flashes. He could have been as much a benefactor of playing with Boyd as Boyd playing with him.

This is no longer true. He is a pocket qb ala wilson.

My favorite trait that makes me put him above Jake is he doesn't eye the rush. I'm not a fan of Jakes pocket presence or ability to deal with noise. Boyd displays that.

Tajh Boyd can be the real deal.

    My way?

I draft Aaron Murray (if possible/should be) and he should be ready to compete for the starting spot against Locker.

Even if he's not ready til preseason to compete...

There are a few QBs I like this draft. Murray, of course. Bortles I'm warming up to. Fales, and Derek Carr.

    Short list- but they're options.

What do you like about Carr? Curious, I've got my report done on him and I'm just comparing.

I don't think so, hear me out.

We have the Big 4 QBs of Bridgewater, Manziel, Carr, and Bortles. I believe we'll see those four int he Top-8 of the draft. There's 6 teams looking QB: HOU, JAX, CLE, OAK, TB, and MIN. Four of the 6 pickup a QB, leaving 2 teams still looking for QB. All 6 of those teams also draft before us in the 2nd round, so there's potential another QB goes early 2 (before us). If we wait until the 3rd (which we don't have one), teams I could still see going QB in the 2nd: NYJ, ARZ, & DEN.

With that being said, there isn't a free agent QBs good enough to take a starting job. Potential of Mike Vick, could see him in Oakland. Hou, Jax, Min are sure-fire to go QB. Cle loves Hoyer, TB has Glennon, & Oak has Pryor/McGloin. So there's potential (I view unlikely) that 3 teams don't go QB.

Regardless, we'll be lucky if the #5 QB is available at our 2nd round pick.
