Red Zone - Mariota

Because we need to show the league and the world our very best Speed option attack.

 

Could his efficiency be so high because we're hardly ever in the redzone compared to most teams ....

 

If it wasn't for a speed option mariota would likely be like a teacher in hawaii

 

We actually are 13th in the league in red zone scoring attempts per game. The most current stats have us 1st in the league in TDs % at 76.67 the next best team is the Saints at 70%.

The really crazy stat is that on the road we score a TD 91.6% of the time when we get in the red zone. The next best converts at 80% of the time.

We have run some of those trick plays in the red zone as well...the Lewan TD. I think it has to do with the fact that Mariota is just so darn accurate in the short passing game.

 

If we had a secure border you would be selling street tacos somewhere south of the border. LOL

 

It's a pretty remarkable stat considering it is his sophomore year (just). The throw to Walker on Sunday in the RZ was money. Another bullet in the head of those who don't believe .... ( fake evangelical stance ).
