SUMMARY: With the trade of Steve McNair and the retirement of Brad Hopkins, the player links back to the Houston Oilers has ended. The Titans are now looking for a new core group of players to return the team back among the elite teams of the NFL. GM Floyd Reese is excited about the direction the team in moving in now. "When you look at our team right now, we have 50 people coming back to the club from last year," Reese said. "We have 17 starters. We have nine of the 11 defensive starters and the two guys that are gone have been replaced by Chris Hope and David Thornton. … There is a lot to be excited about. I think you can look at this next group, you can see the basis of the core that we’ve built the Steve McNair/Eddie George era on, and I think that’s exciting, and I think that’s good."

As I've stated in the past, if you're gonna rebuild than rebuild! I loved Mac9, but he was holding up the progression of all our young recievers and now it's Billy Ball so let's roll with it. We are still a very young team and I'm excited to see what will happen on the field this year. I believe as a team the Titans will be more competitive and may be even playing some games with the lead late. Am I saying an 8 win team, NO, but if I were other teams I wouldn't sleep on the Titans. I'm sure I'm like many other fans with a closet full of MacNair and George jerseys, but thats part of the game we love and I'm looking forward to the '06 season very much. Now if they get rid of Fischer, that may sway my vote in another direction, but that story can wait.

I disagree with many things you said.

For starters we will not start a starting lineup that will be that young. We didn't last year. A few 2nd year players only will likely start. It depends on sirmon or tulloch in the middle. 3 o-lineman in their 8th year or beyond. Kinney has been around a long time, troupe is entering his third year. Our starting WR will be in their 5th and 6th seasons. I don't see how we will be that young. Where do you get that? We will also start a 30 year old QB.

8 wins maybe? Try a playoff contender. We have shored up our 2 biggest areas of weakness and added a quality WR. Certainly we have upgraded at the center position. Hill and pacman are not rookies anymore and we have fuller and woolfolk to battle for the nickel.

I think 8 wins minimum. Jeff fisher is in s imilar situation to what he had in 1999 when he was hungry to win and under pressure to do so. This will be a much more determined team from the beginning of camp.

Seriously. I cant remember a tougher schedule. As if playing arguably the best division, the NFC East, wasn't bad enough, we also get to play the Pats, the Chargers, the Fins, The Colts, the Ratbirds, and the BILLS!

Just kidding about the Bills part.

8 wins would be awesome and do-able but EXPECTING more than 8 is just you being a foolhardy fan.

    Keep up the good work.;)

I believe people will be very pleasantly suprized. For 2 years we have been saying, Dang, so much talent, but so young. They are not that young anymore. Billy did very well the last time he "knew" the starting role was his. He will be out to prove something, just like our free agent signees. I think we will be Wildcard at minimum this year.
