Reggie Nelson vs. Michael Griffin

    Reggie Nelson is in danger of losing his starting safety position for the Jaguars (source). A bunch of people here went "huh?" when the Titans drafted Michael Griffin two spots ahead of where Nelson was picked, and now Griffin is on the verge of becoming the best safety in the league.

    Just thought I'd point this out, so we can all take a moment and give MR his props for his first ever Titans draft pick. Of course, he then went on and drafted Chris Henry...

    Hey im not giving up on this guy yet, he has top notch speed, agility, and strength. He's like a buff chris johnson. All he needs is vision to find the whole.

    I must admit, I am a recovering Nelsoholic. It's nice to see someone point out the against the grain, yet brilliant in hindsight moves made by the front office at times.

    Ok. I like Griffin and the pick, but he's not even the best safety on the TEAM, much less the league.
    He didn't do much of anything last year. Hopefully he has more impact this year.


    annnd... I bashed Reggie Nelson the entire time leading up to the draft. Had forgotten all about him. His Deion Sanders tackling techniques must not be translating in the NFL. Who would have guessed?

    You honestly think Chris Hope is better?

    Griffin is a top 5 safety.

    Chris Hope is a better safety, he's a much stronger tackler and a harder hitter. He still has the vision to get the picks like Griffin.

    Griffin however is much faster and I'd say has more awareness than Hope, however Griffin is much younger and has time on his side to improve.

    I'm just glad we have both of them on our team :)
